It feels like it's been a while since I have updated this poor blog. I have had so much going on in the last few weeks with my daughter's Deb ball, then our family all getting sick with the flu over the past couple of weeks. Then throw in a couple of birthdays as well.
In the middle of all that I seemed to have lost my mojo somewhere and would sit at my desk for ages just thinking of what I could create!!!
I kept thinking about the new Just Add Ink Challenge and decided that today was the day that I would create something. I cringed when I saw material as I am not an avid sewer (can't sew to save myself!!!) or have a lot of material on hand. I scrummaged through my old sewing box (yes I do have one of them!!) and came up with some lovely lace bits that I used to use when making knitted coathangers. My goodness that seems like so long ago, I even found one that was finished that just needed to be put onto a hanger!!!
Anyway, here is my entry for the Just Add Ink Challenge #32 which you can find here:-
It's hard to see in the photo but I have ruffled the lace under the polka dot paper. This is the lace that has the holes in the middle which I have hidden underneath.
Here is a close up of the lace that I have used to make some leaves underneath the rose but when I had finished it I didn't like it because you couldn't see it properly so then I just slotted the leaves underneath the lace.
Not sure if my mojo is back but I ended up being happy with this creation after it all came together although I wasn't too confident. Now off to enter the challenge.
Happy stamping,
From left to right we have Purple, Orange, Yellow and Black. We have colour co-ordinated the invitations to match each other.
This next lot we have are Silver, Red, Teal and Pink.
For the last two colours we have chosen Blue and Green. Now some of the colours are Stampin' Up! but as I did not have enough of some colours to do the whole lot we ended up using a variety of other cardstock but all the ink pads we used were Stampin' Up! It's hard to tell from the pics but we did clear emboss the bottom dragon in Basic Black and coloured them with blender pens and the ink pads. The top dragons are stamped in colours and then clear embossed.
When I saw Always Artichoke I must admit that I did cringe as this is a colour I don't use very often. I ended up searching through my scraps and managed to scrape up a couple of small pieces.%2329.jpg)
Here is a view of the top. I have versamarked the Canvas background on the roof and then used the word window punch to jazz it up a bit and make it stripey. This roof part was the bit where I had accidentally used the wrong colour so it was quite easy to fix.
I have used Pacific Point as the base of my card followed by Soft Suede and then Baja Breeze. I have also polka dot embossed the top not die after stamping the lovely swirls with Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede. After looking at this card I am not sure of the positioning of the ribbon, it looks a bit odd!!
