A Couple of Quick Cards

As the title suggests the following two cards were made in about 10 minutes. I absolutely love plain and simple and sometimes that's all a card needs to be.

Here they are:-
The colours I have gone with were Pink Passion, Green Galore, Real Red and Tangerine Tango. I coloured "the more candles the bigger the wish!" in various markers. I thought they ended up really nice indeed.

I have been working on lots of Christmas gift boxes and cards at the moment but haven't been able to photograph anything at the moment, compliments of my lovely daughter taking my camera to her school camp!!!

So stay tuned and I should be all Christmasy (is that a word!!) soon.

A Couple of Bugs!!

While I was going through my stash of cards I realised that I didn't have many kid's cards so I started working on some to add to my collection. I just love the cute bugs from Bugs & Kisses so decided to do a couple with this set.

The first one is a boy's version:-

I have always wanted to do one of these cute magnifying glass and my inspiration from this one came from my very lovely friend, Karen, and you can find her card here. I have added a piece of acetate to make the little magnifying window.

My next card is a girly version of the bugs:-

I loved how this one turned out. Now my inspiration for this card came while doing a bit of blog surfing and you can find that card in the post here. I loved the inspiration card so much that I only managed to change the colours.

Hopefully over the weekend I am able to work on some Christmas items so I can make my blog look all Christmasy.

A Beautiful Lily Box

I have been making so many boxes of late and just wanted to share this one with you. The box is made using the Big Shot Scallop Envelope Die. I can't remember exactly where I found the tutorial but it's quite easy. It uses 4 Scallop Envelopes which are then all attached together to form a box.
Here it is:-
I have used Melon Mambo as the base and have teamed it up with Certainly Celery for the scallop lid. You will also need to cut another 4 envelopes if you wanted to make the scallops a contrasting colour and attach them to the inside of the lid.

Now for the wow factor take a look at the gorgeous lily flowers!!! Aren't they fantastic. Now I came across Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds where she has a tutorial on how to make these flowers. You can find the post for it here.

Here is a close up of the lillies:-

I think these lillies are perfect to use on tops of boxes, they just give it that extra lift. So stay tuned and I will endeavour to add some more boxes made with this die.

The Final Instalment

Here is the final instalment to my All Boxed Up project, the 3in x 3in mini cards and tags that can be tied to gifts. If you have missed the first post just scroll down a couple of posts and you will see what I am referring to.
These ended up being quite simple as well. I really had no idea what I was going to put together, they just sort of happened!!! I so loved this project, might even be adventurous and make some more, one day soon :) (or should I say one or two weeks).

Good luck to all the horsey punters out there who are having a flutter on the Melbourne Cup today. It's quite funny that this is the one and only horse race that I actually watch, but I guess I am not the only one!!!!

All Boxed Up Cards

I am finally getting around to posting some of the contents I had made for the All Boxed Up project in my previous post.

These are the four cards which I kept simple so that they could fit into the envelope pockets without too much trouble, less is better so they say!!

Here they are:-
I went with a few different sentiments so there is a variety of cards for all occasions. I so love the Parisian Breeze papers and sadly I have not much left now, just a few scraps which might show up on some more projects.

Stay tuned for the rest of the project bits which I will pop on here later. I would also like to thank everyone who left comments on my blog for this project. I am so humbled that there are some lovely people out there who check into my little blog.
